The area of the Metropolitan Association of Upper Silesia and Dąbrowa Basin (GZM) covers 41 municipalities and cities with total area of 2.5 thousand square kilometres. It’s the first (and the only as far) metropolis in Poland, inhabited by ca. 2.2 million residents.
